Mary Pipes

Mary Pipes was born and raised in the Bay Area of California. She graduated from Redwood High School and continued her education at Brigham Young University where she studied music, theater, secondary education and French. She and her husband, Jim, raised their six children in Utah and Arizona. Her Manti roots reach back to 1853 with the arrival of her great-great grandparents from Denmark, and she and her family have lived in Manti since 1980. She currently works at Mid-Utah Radio where she is the traffic
manager.
Mary has had an interest in City government for over 25 years and is grateful for the opportunity to
serve on the City Council. She believes the strength of Manti is in its citizens and wants each person to
feel they are a part of the community, and she wants them to feel heard. She believes Manti will
experience growth in the future, and maintaining and improving the infrastructure to support that
growth will be vital. It will be important to allocate resources where they are needed the most. As much
as is possible, she will be an advocate for Manti City against the overreach of other Government offices.
She will work to continue to make Manti a safe and secure place to raise a family or start a business.
Manti has been settled for 175 years, and she believes we can honor the past that has made Manti the
great city it is while embracing the bright future that lies ahead. She welcomes your comments and
invites you to email her with your questions or concerns.
